Gray Loft Gallery is pleased to present our next exhibit There is a There There. 
Join us this Friday for the artist reception for this end of year salon-style show which gives a nod to Gertrude Stein's philosophy of living with art and supporting artists with arrangements of furniture and art to create this milieu.
The gallery is filled with incredible art, furniture, textiles, jewelry by Bay Area artists who have an affiliation with the gallery (and are primarily from Oakland) who will have their work displayed in salon-style arrangements in the gallery.  Work in the exhibit  includes painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, art furniture, textiles and jewelry.

9th Annual Winter Art Walk
 
The exhibit will also be open during the 9th Annual Winter Art Walk in Jingletown,
Saturday and Sunday, December 6 & 7, 11:00 to 6 00 pm. 
The annual winter open studio event highlights the work of 50+ artists who live and/or work in this artist neighborhood, which is situated between the Park and Fruitvale Street bridges bordered by the estuary separating Oakland from the island of Alameda.

Founded in 2012, the gallery has been referred to as a hidden gem in Jingletown and noted by Kenneth Baker, SF Chronicle, in his Visual Arts Don’t Miss Column as “…a space gaining prominence in the Bay Area…” The mission of the gallery is to provide exhibition opportunities for artists in a setting that is an alternative to the traditional gallery model. We believe that Art is a wonderful vehicle for communication, community building and inspiration.  We want to encourage the appreciation and interest in the arts by presenting work in a non-exclusive, welcoming, professional and fun environment.  We hope to cultivate the belief that art is for everyone, and that art belongs in our community at large, not just in traditional gallery and museum environments.
