ABOUT  GRAY  LOFT  GALLERY

  Gray Loft Gallery has promoted the rich art culture of Jingletown and the greater Bay Area for 11 years. The gallery has been referred to as a hidden gem in Jingletown, and noted by the late Kenneth Baker, former SF Chronicle Art Critic, in his Visual Arts Don’t Miss Column as “…A space gaining prominence in the Bay Area…”   The mission of the gallery is to provide exhibition opportunities for artists in a setting that is an alternative to the traditional gallery model. We hope to inspire, engage and celebrate artists in our community and beyond.  We acknowledge the achievements of emerging, mid-career and established artists – with an emphasis on those who live and work in the Bay Area – in a non-traditional art space. A number of artists began their art career at Gray Loft Gallery.

Gray Loft Gallery is pleased to present our next exhibit There is a There There. 
Join us this Friday for the artist reception for this end of year salon-style show which gives a nod to Gertrude Stein's philosophy of living with art and supporting artists with arrangements of furniture and art to create this milieu.
The gallery is filled with incredible art, furniture, textiles, jewelry by Bay Area artists who have an affiliation with the gallery (and are primarily from Oakland) who will have their work displayed in salon-style arrangements in the gallery.  Work in the exhibit  includes painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, art furniture, textiles and jewelry.

9th Annual Winter Art Walk
 
The exhibit will also be open during the 9th Annual Winter Art Walk in Jingletown,
Saturday and Sunday, December 6 & 7, 11:00 to 6 00 pm. 
The annual winter open studio event highlights the work of 50+ artists who live and/or work in this artist neighborhood, which is situated between the Park and Fruitvale Street bridges bordered by the estuary separating Oakland from the island of Alameda.

Gray Loft Gallery ~ Vecinos! Muchisimas Gracias!!!

Thanks to everyone who came to the opening reception of Los Vecinos!  This exhibition is a group show which consists of work by artists living and working as neighbors in an historic artist building in Oakland.  The twelve artists, all who have had accomplished careers, have presented an eclectic yet cohesive group of work on display.

We had one of the best receptions ever.  If you missed it, please come by soon. The show is open only two more weekends.
