California Society of Printmakers was founded
in San Francisco in December 1912 – in anticipation of the upcoming
Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915 and announced in the San
Francisco Chronicle on January 19, 1913 – the California Society of
Printmakers is now the oldest continuously operating society of
printmakers in the United States, if not the world.
Prints in the exhibition are original works of art (not digital prints) and include woodcuts, etchings, screenprints, lithographs and monoprints by more than 25 accomplished printmakers. More information about the society is available at www.caprintmakers.org,
and in the soon to be released e-book of CSP’s award-winning,
limited-edition out-of-print book California Society of Printmakers: One
Hundred Years, 1913-2013.
We hope you can come to Jingletown to checkout this extraordinary show.
