We are excited to announce January events at the gallery which include two dynamic workshops by
renowned artist and instructor Betty Jo Costanzo:
Movement Drawing from the Figure
Saturday January 26, 12:30pm to 5:00pm
and
ACTION/REACTION: Drawing & Painting to the Moving Image
Sunday January 27, 12:00pm to 6:00pm
details:
A professional model will be hired for this workshop.
This workshop is for all artist levels, though previous drawing or life drawing experience will be helpful.
Please come prepared with these materials: 19"
x 25" drawing board, 18" x 24" Sketch pad (Biggie, Canson or
Strathmore), many sticks medium size Extra Soft vine charcoal, large
kneaded eraser, mars staedtler eraser, chamois, two 3" bull dog clips, 3
graphite pencils 2B/4B/6B, Yasutomo Liquid Sumi Black Ink (2 oz green
bottle), medium sumi brush (1.5" bristle length), two sponges, three
pint size plastic containers with lids, AND any other materials you
like such as Caran D'Ache Neocolor II
A materials list will be e-mailed to you once you have made your reservation.

Our space is very limited for these workshops, so immediate reservation is urged. At the same time, to make the class economically feasible for all, it must be fully subscribed (filled) in order for it to go ahead. Please immediately send in your reservation request by email, then follow up by mailing your class fee payment in full, in time to be received by the registration deadline.
Checks only please, - sorry, no debit or credit transactions. If class does not fill, all fees will be refunded. Once registration is paid and class is a go, no cancellation will be accepted and there will be no refunds.
About the Artist and Instructor:
Betty Jo Costanzo is a locally renowned and internationally beloved painter, movement artist and instructor. She
has an uncanny ability to inspire and bring new freedom even to
experienced painters in their work, while at the same time being
accessible to beginners. An interdisciplinary artist who has worked and
taught in the SF Bay Area as well as Cyprus, Spain, Ireland, Italy and
currently Seattle, she taught for 16 years at CCA in Media Arts,
Individualized, Drawing/Painting and concept based courses such as Butoh
Drawing with Tom White.
Ms
Costanzo now resides in Seattle where her works can be seen at E4C
Electronic Gallery, SAM Gallery, and the Alexis Hotel as well as Equinox
Studios in Georgetown.
In
Oakland you will see two paintings from her current Lake Chelan Series
at the Gray Loft Gallery in March 2013 at The BIG PAINTING SHOW.
