We are delighted to be participating in Slow Art Day again this year.
Join us on Saturday, April 12! We still have a few spaces left, so sign up!

Art viewing: 11:00 to 12:30
Lunch and informal discussion: 12:30 to 1:30

About Slow Art Day:
One day each year – April 12 in 2014 – people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art
slowly. Participants look at five works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet together over lunch to talk
about their experience.
That’s it. Simple by design, the goal is to focus on the art and the
art of seeing.

If you would like to participate at the Gray Loft Gallery to contemplate the
Flora and Form Exhibit,
please sign up on the Slow Art Day website and choose our gallery in Oakland.

Bring a bagged lunch, we will provide dessert. Artists will be present to talk informally about their work in the "Flora and Form" exhibit.

About the Gray Loft Gallery...

Founded in 2012, the gallery has been referred to as a hidden gem in Jingletown and noted by Kenneth Baker, SF Chronicle, in his Visual Arts Don’t Miss Column as “…a space gaining prominence in the Bay Area…” The mission of the gallery is to provide exhibition opportunities for artists in a setting that is an alternative to the traditional gallery model. We hope to inspire, engage and celebrate artists in our community and beyond.  We acknowledge the achievements of emerging, mid-career and established artists – with an emphasis on those who live and work in the Bay Area, in a non-traditional art space.

We believe that Art is a wonderful vehicle for communication, community building and inspiration.  We want to encourage the appreciation and interest in the arts by presenting work in a non-exclusive, welcoming, professional and fun environment.  We hope to cultivate the belief that art is for everyone, and that art belongs in our community at large, not just in traditional gallery and museum environments.

The Gallery is a unique venue located on the 3rd floor of one of Oakland’s oldest artists’ work/live warehouses in the historic artist district Jingletown.
