Visitors to this historic arts district will see colorful mosaic murals on converted warehouse walls, intersection street painting art and the Peterson Street Community Wall, a work in progress which features murals by many of the residents of Jingletown.

The Gray Loft Gallery celebrates the phenomenal achievements of emerging and established artists, with an emphasis on those who live and work in the Bay Area, in a non-traditional art space.  The newly-opened Gray Loft Gallery is a unique venue located on the third floor of one of Oakland’s oldest artists’ work/live warehouses.

Gray Loft Gallery ~ 10 Connect closing party

The exhibition of 10 Connect – A Group Show of Ten Artists at the Gray Loft Gallery is now history but we ended with an incredible closing reception, last Friday night, which exceeded our expectations (see images at end of blog). We had an incredible turn out and a very lively reception.

This has been a very successful exhibit. It, as well as the gallery, has received positive and inspiring praise from the art community, including a review in the East Bay Express.

Thanks to everyone who came to see the work, talked to the artists and helped us celebrate the end of the exhibit.

We appreciate your interest and support of the show and Gray Loft Gallery!

Rockwall Winery @ the Gray Loft Gallery

Rockwall Winery tasting

Only two words needed to describe it; warm & wonderful. On a beautifully sunny spring day, only as beautiful as it can get in Jingletown, Rockwall Winery poured a wine tasting for the Saturday open gallery of Gray Loft Gallery. Dick Winter did the pour and a more gracious man I have never met.

Jan Watten was the hostess for the afternoon, greeting the guests as they arrived; showing them the work, telling them about the aritsts and just making them feel at home.

Then Jan sent them to the wine bar where Dick was ready to serve them the excellent Zinfandel, the delicate rosƩ or the rich Chardonnay wines he'd brought for the tasting. Each of them a delight.

The pace was quiet but steady throughout the afternoon. It gave the artists who tended the gallery quality time to spend with the guests who came.
